Sahoor Patrol Effective in Pressing Brawl Act

Brawl which often done by two groups in Pasar Manggis Urban Village, Setiabudi Sub-District, South Jakarta, has making the locals unrest. Moreover, the frequency of brawl is increasing in this fasting month of Ramadan, especially after tarawih prayer and approaching sahoor.

In this Ramadan, our prevention effort to press brawl act is by holding patrol together with the residents and conduct sahoor as well. I think this is quite effective in pressing brawl act

To press such act, Setiabudi Metro Sector Police together with the residents formed an anti-brawl team. The team routinely holds patrol starting 11 PM. With that, the intensity of brawl action is expected could be pressed.

“Indeed, this area is known for brawl. In this Ramadan, our prevention effort to press brawl act is by holding patrol together with the residents and conduct sahoor as well. I think this is quite effective in pressing brawl act,” stated Setiabudi Metro Sector Police Chief AKBP Audie Latuheru, Saturday (7/5).

Two Teenager Groups Involved in Brawl in Kampung Sumur

According to Latuheru, joint personnel hold patrol by circling locations prone to brawl act, such as dense settlement on Jalan Menteng Wadas, RW 11, Pasar Manggis Urban Village.

“We’re circling the area every night, from RT 06 until RT 10 in RW 10 Pasar Manggis. All are prone to brawl points,” he told.

Meanwhile, Amran (60), a local, disclosed that brawl has happened twice in this Ramadan. The action is very unsettling the residents and also disturbing their fasting.

Alhamdulillah (thank God) the situation can be conducive, because two nights ago there was unpleasant activity (brawl). Hopefully with conducting sahoor together, we could get along and our neighborhood could be conducive,” he expressed.
